NOHS PTSA MEETING
9/2/08
-The meeting was called to order at 9:02 A.M.
-There was an introduction of members and their positions.
-Members present: Marcia Kight, Celia Taylor, Beth Serey,
Barbara Gargala, Debbie
Napier, Linda O’Nan, Karen Coffey, Lyne Church, Cathy
Steinfeld, Liz Glenn, Leslie
Peak, Jennifer Nolte, Traci Shaw, Lisa Jarrett
-Treasurer’s report: The actual monthly report will be
finalized after individual
committees submit their reports of activity. The proposed
budget was presented
and will be put forth for approval on 9/4/08 at the
Principal’s Coffee/general PTSA
meeting.
-Lisa Jarrett’s report: Discussed great start of the school
year; construction completion
dates have varied and continue to be subject to change as
interior and exterior work
continues; 9/04/08 6 P.M. Open House format discussed;
9/15/08 Volunteer Luncheon
for those who helped get ready for the opening day; the
three make-up days were
discussed and are to be decided at the next school board
meeting…01/02/09 is the most
debated but other options are very limited.
-Ways and Means: 166 coupon books sold at registration;
envelopes only for additional
orders will go home to the students this year; Snappy
Tomato fundraiser is in progress;
Reva has also arranged fundraising through Java Brewing
Company but details are
unknown at this time.
-Membership: 376 total membership since registration.
-Communications: Web site fees for this year are paid. Submit
info for web site to Debbie
-Academic and Guidance: College/Career night information
distributed through daily
announcements, newspapers, etc.
-Hospitality: Staff luncheon on 9/30/08…sign up sheet for food
circulated. Breakfast
items were provided for the staff at the start of school.
-Secret Pals: Approx. 30 names of staff members still need to
be taken. Need to
reevaluate this program for next year.
-Reflections: This year’s theme is “Wow”
-Kentucky Kids Day: Ice cream bar during lunch hour on
9/20/08…will recruit donations
through parent reps.
-Meeting adjourned at 10:11 A.M.
