PTSA Meeting
February 2, 2010
Members Present: Karen Coffey, Celia
Taylor, Bobbi Dewey, Liz Glenn, Debbie Napier, Lisa Jarrett,
Kathy Coatney, Beth Scherer, Karen Siladi
The meeting was called to order at 9:00am
by Karen Coffey.
Recording Secretary’s Report:
Minutes from January’s meeting were
distributed for review. The minutes can be found on the PTSA’s
website. No corrections made to minutes.
Treasurer’s Report:
Members received copies of the monthly
financial statements. No questions or changes.
Principal’s Report:
Parent election for SBDM is approaching.
Mrs. Jarrett suggested March 18th, Parent Information
Night, because of the number of parents expected and also
because of the parents of 8th graders will also be in
attendance in large numbers. Election info can be included in
one-call made for this event. Mrs. Jarrett will get approval
from SBDM.
Mrs. Jarrett has received several calls
from parents regarding new grading system. Attached are grading
comparisons compiled by Mrs. Jarrett to attempt to answer
questions regarding the grading changes. She will present this
info to teachers for input and make info available to parents.
Scheduling for next year will be done
online and will start in March.
Jr. Prom date set for March 27th
and Sr. Prom date set for April 24th.
Hospitality:
Liz Glenn announced that Staff Appreciation
Week will be week of April 12th, with staff luncheon
Thursday, April 15th. The school will be hosting the
volunteer luncheon on Friday April 16th.
Reflections:
Bobbi Dewey reported that seven students
have advanced to the District Level. At February 7th
ceremony they will find out who has advanced to State.
Academic Recognition:
Mrs. Jarrett is looking into recognizing
students by grade level. AP banners are on order.
Community Council:
SEPTA presented a request from all Oldham
County PTSAs for $50 donations to help with start up costs for
the new organization. A motion was made by Beth Scherer to make
the donation and Karen Siladi seconded the motion. Motion was
voted on and passed.
A Nomination Committee will need to be set
up at the next meeting.
Next meeting will be March 2nd. |
