P.T.S.A. Standing Rules
Article
I: Board Meeting
Section 1. Board meeting will be held
once a month when school is in session.
Section 2. All board members,
officers and chairmen are expected to attend all board meetings.
Reports shall be presented by a representative if unable to
attend.
Article
II: Officers
Section 1. The President shall
oversee the daily operations of the P.T.S.A.
Section 2. The First Vice President
shall serve as ways and means chair and plan fundraising events to
meet the budget needs for the year.
Section 3. The Second Vice President
shall serve as membership chair and conduct a membership drive in
August/September and promote membership throughout the year.
Section 4. The Third Vice President
shall serve as communications chair maintaining the webpage and
coordinating the school directory.
Section 5. The Treasurer will maintain
all financial records.
Section 6. The Secretary will take
down and record all minutes of board meetings.
Section 7. All officers shall keep a
procedure book and turn over all materials to the newly elected
officer within two weeks after the school year, except the
Treasurer. See bylaws.
Article
III: Committees
Section 1. Committees may be
created, appointed or dispensed with, by the president or the
executive committee or the PTSA Board. Exception being the
nominating committee. See bylaws.
Section 2. Each committee shall elect,
by a quorum, a chairperson.
Section 3. All committee chairs shall
keep a procedure book and turn over all materials to the new
chairman within three weeks after the school year.
Article
IV: State Meeting/Trainings
Section 1. If needed, two (2) board
members attending state meetings/trainings shall be reimbursed
after returning from the conference with receipts.
Section 2. Leadership/Convention
admission will be paid by the P.T.S.A. for up to two (2) attendees
if funds allow.
Article
V: School Representative
Section 1. The principal is the
school representative unless replaced/appointed by the principal.
Article
VI: Honorary Life Recognitions and Student Leadership
Recognitions
Section 1. The P.T.S.A. has the option
to bestow an Honorary Life Recognition.
Section 2. The P.T.S.A. shall budget
for at least one student scholarship yearly.
Article
VII: Donations/Memorials
Section 1. Cards may be sent to
board members/staff who have illness or life incidents. Money to
come from the corresponding secretary expense budget.
Article
VIII: Bylaws/Standing Rules
Section 1. All board members shall
have access to the bylaws and standing rules by way of the P.T.S.A. website.
